The VA announced they terminate ALL union contracts
Main Post:
Top Comment: Here’s a link to the recent press release. The Republicans really are trying to kill us. Just like they did with the PACT Act and everything else.
Do y’all think the VA should provide access to gyms?
Main Post:
I’m not trying to be all entitled “give me more shit”.
I just wonder how much money the VA would save if patients had access to a gym network. Patients that are physically fit typically are less expensive in the long run
Medicare has it, with programs like “silver sneakers”. Enrollees can go to any gym in the network for free.
Just something that’s been on my mind lately..I know there’s free ways to exercise, just seems like from a purely cost perspective it would save the VA money in the long run. Open heart surgery and diabetic treatments are expensive.
What do yall think?
Top Comment: I'd support the hell out of it. Granted I have been on the Active and Fit program since before they ruined it
Virginia Tech - Money Heist
Main Post:
Virginia Tech just mass rejected almost every MS CS applicant. Every platform is full of rejected discussions with the same stupid reason "No Space Available". They didn't review these applications directly sent out reject mail. CMU, Ivy equivalent profiles also got rejected for the same reason.
I would have been happier If I got rejected for a valid reason. All my Research experience and publications weren't even opened. If they already filled due to deferrals, They shouldn't have opened the application.
Anyhow, they managed to loot around 50,000$ legally (consider 500+ applicants).

That's a cash cow and they didn't even try to hide it.
VA sent me the money I owe my attorney is this normal?
Main Post:
i won an appeal and got back pay but after they closed another claim (attorney memo fee or something like that) they deposited the money owed to them into my account. i thought they were suppose to automatically deposit the money to them?
Top Comment: I'd confirm that you owe something to your lawyer, and proceed accordingly. You don't wanna get between a lawyer and their money lol.
VA RENT RELIEF IS STILL HOLDING OUR MONEY...IS YOUR APPLICATION STILL "IN REVIEW?"
Main Post:
Does anyone have any updates on this? I've tried to contact my local delegate, who has helped but they are giving her the runaround and saying they'll work claim and call me and I've HEARD NOTHING AT ALL FROM THEM. I've called them weekly and it's just the same old excuse...it's in review and I just need to wait. I'm just so frustrated with this..my case has been accepted as of Jan 7th, yet it's been in review ever since. I know nothing is needed because that was handled prior to my case being accepted. I just don't know what else to do..they need to at least explain why they're taking so long .. especially when they look at my notes and it doesn't even show any work being done on it. Anyone else having the same problems still??

Do you know if this was Deval (old processor) or DHCD via egov (new processor). They seemed to have royally screwed that cutover and sounds like you might be on Deval. Jan 7 was right around when they started the migration. Ours got stuck in that processing, and then again after that approval with Deval. They've also changed the "published email" like 4 times. It's very frustrating.)
I finally had success calling Deval (703) 962-1884, who said it had been "sent to accounting" (but got stuck for weeks). I then called 1-833-RENT-RELIEF (1-833-736-8735), operated by the new egov processor, to see if they had any further insight. They said the Deval transition was rocky and they had been recommending some people re-apply through the new eGov portal, but I had already been approved and "sent to accounting" which is apparently the Commonwealth, not Deval.
I was finally successful emailing [email protected] withApplicant's Name: XApplication Number ###Landlord's Name: Yand saying I'd been getting the runaround from Deval since November (now early February). A few days later a real DHCD person responded saying check was sent.
My guess was is you are stuck in limbo between Deval and Egov. It looks like Deval was officially removed from the contract March 1st, so that might be even more complicated to sort out. I'd recommend calling the 1833 number and seeing what they recommend, then follow up with a polite but thorough email to the DHCD email address.
For the money- 16:9 IPS or 21:9 VA?
Main Post:
As I want to get my first gaming Monitor I am wondering whether the around 500€ I should get a good 16:9 IPS or a probably dark-level smearing VA 21:9.
I often heard that the dark level smearing on VA should be annoying.
Top Comment:
I have a 32:9-VA Panel (CRG9) and the smearing is minimal. I only notice IT, if theres a dark black background and a really fast white text. The advantages of a wider screen are far higher then a IPS-Panel. (my opinion)
The VA would rather pay me more money than perform the surgery I need.

Two completely separate agencies.
The VHA covers healthcare.
The VBA is responsible for your compensation and pension benefits, education, home loans etc.
The VBA Compensation is based on the severity of your disability. They have no control or input into your treatment.
If you have issues with your VA healthcare treatment, then request a new doctor and opinion.
Down payment with VA loan?
Main Post: Down payment with VA loan?
Top Comment: Loan officer here. I would take a hard look at using a Conventional loan if you can do 20% down. Especially if your credit is 800+. The VA loan has the funding fee (2.15% of the loan amount) that gets rolled into the loan for VA buyers who don’t have a service connected disability (or Purple Heart). The funding fee gets lowered to 1.5% if you make a 5% down payment and 1.25% if you make a 10% down payment. But anything above 10% down will not lower the funding fee from 1.25%. Using a conventional loan will help you avoid the Funding Fee. But if you do a down payment less than 20% on a conventional loan, you’ll have to pay PMI (monthly mortgage insurance). With your income, credit, and assets, I would probably encourage Conventional based on the info you provided.
Forgetting money and a commute, where would you most want to live in Northern VA?
Main Post:
Pretend you're a multi-millionaire on house arrest and have to live in NoVA. You can afford any home you want and you don't have a job. Where do you live?
Me: one of those houses in Great Falls right along the river where you can jump on the trail and be to River Bend or Great Falls Park in no time
